Born and raised in Hawaii, at the early age of twelve Jordan received his first camera, a vintage 1960’s Nikon SLR from his grandfather. He instantly fell in love with the art of photography and soon after acquired the fundamental techniques of manually developing and printing his own film in a darkroom.
Over the next couple of years, his equipment as well as his skill began to progress. With the expert instruction and patient guidance of his high school (Iolani) teacher and mentor, Alison Uyehara Ngo, Jordan matured as both a student of photography and as a person.
He then got his degree in biological sciences from UNLV and presently resides in Las Vegas specializing in exotic automobiles and high fashion photography.
When not performing photoshoots, Shiraki can be found helping the homeless/abused women and children of Las Vegas. This is such a great passion of his, that two years ago he started a non-profit organization called project_SMILE which is an acronym for Strengthening, Motivating, and Inspiring Lives Everywhere.What started out as only him and his friend has now grown to over 40 volunteers that provide weekly one-on-one health classes for the women and crafts/mentoring for the children.
